Detailed analysis: why the advantages and disadvantages of synthetic resin tiles and the price gap is so huge

In recent years, with the need of the terrace-slope engineering and new rural construction in our country, a series of new environmental protection roof building materials have emerged. ASA synthetic resin tile, as a new type of roof tile, has been widely used in urban construction and new rural construction due to its advantages of anti-corrosion, anti-aging, anti-ultraviolet, anti-freezing, heat preservation, heat insulation, and flame retardant. However, after several years of development, the quality problems of synthetic resin tile can be seen everywhere in the past two years. Obviously, it is a kind of green and environmental protection, and has good anti-aging performance. Why is its life so short? For consumers, most people have little understanding of synthetic resin tile products, and it is difficult to distinguish the quality of synthetic resin tile. But should these quality problems be borne by our consumers? Of course not. Let’s analyze in detail why the quality and price gap of synthetic resin tile is so large.

Experts all know that synthetic resin tile is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and then added with stabilizers, plasticizers, CPE, ACR and a small amount of calcium carbonate powder as raw materials, and then processed by co-extrusion technology of pipeline equipment. The standard thickness of synthetic resin tile is 3.0 mm (±0.1 mm). Now, in order to compete for more customers, some manufacturers have to do something on the raw materials: the following are several factors that lead to the rise of synthetic resin tile price:

1. No matter what the thickness of the resin tile is, the manufacturers have made the thickness of the resin tile into 2.0 mm, 2.3 mm, 2.5 mm, 2.7 mm, so it seems that the raw materials are saved, and the price can even be different by 10 yuan. It also has competitive advantages, but its expected life is greatly shortened.

2. ASA synthetic resin tiles play a decisive role and are also a high-quality ASA that resists aging and ultraviolet rays. Of course, the quality of ASA engineering resins is also uneven. Good ASA prices reach around 41,000 tons and more than 30,000 yuan, while the anti-aging performance of the inferior ASA that costs more than 10,000 yuan is also poor and prone to fading. Therefore, the total accounting cost will at least differ by 6 yuan. 

3. Now some manufacturers use ABS for the surface layer because the raw materials of ABS are all thousands of yuan/ton, which is very cheap. But according to this theory, the weather resistance of ASA is 10 times that of ABS, that is to say, the life of ABS is about 10 years shorter than that of ASA. It is easy to fade (fade after a few months) and brittle (brittle temperature -7 degrees Celsius). 

4.The proportion of raw materials. The prices of these raw materials are different. Some of them increase the weight by adding calcium carbonate, so the overall cost is lower. Some of them add plasticizers to make the tiles flexible, but the plasticizers are not fireproof, so they cannot meet the standards. 

5. The price of PVC as the main material also determines the price and quality of the resin tiles. Some irresponsible manufacturers reduce the quality in order to increase profits. The resin tiles are made of recycled polyvinyl chloride powder. 

Finally, we all know that the production costs, factory rents, labor, water and electricity costs are different in each place, and the difference of one or two yuan also determines the overall cost of the resin tiles. 

In conclusion, it is not difficult to understand why the quality and price gap of synthetic resin tiles is so large. Therefore, when we purchase high-quality synthetic resin tiles, we should not only “look at the corresponding”, but also look at the quality! It’s still an old Chinese saying! A penny a penny goods! Good goods are not cheap, cheap goods are not good!
