Installation Tips for Synthetic Resin Tiles: Ensuring Stability and Durability

In recent years, synthetic resin tiles have become highly popular in the construction industry due to their excellent performance and attractive appearance. However, no matter how good the product quality is, neglecting details during installation can lead to issues such as leaks, cracking, and reduced lifespan. Here, we will explore some essential installation tips for synthetic resin tiles to ensure their stability and durability.

#### Pre-drilling: A Crucial Step

Before securing the resin tiles, pre-drilling is essential. The diameter of the holes must be 50% larger than the diameter of the screws to prevent internal stress from thermal expansion and contraction, which can cause cracking. Proper execution of this step can prevent issues such as the cracking of the skylight panels.

#### Longitudinal Overlap and Waterstop Strips

When overlapping synthetic resin tiles with steel plates longitudinally, a minimum overlap of 200mm is required, and two waterstop strips should be placed. This design not only enhances the structural integrity but also effectively prevents leakage.

#### Wind Direction and Overlapping

When installing the main tiles, it is crucial to install them in the opposite direction of the prevailing wind. Both horizontal and vertical overlaps must be securely fixed with self-tapping screws to ensure the overall structure’s stability.

#### Symmetrical Installation and Detailed Work

For gable roofs, both sides should be installed symmetrically to ensure the ridge tiles align perfectly. Additionally, the joints between ridge tiles and sloping ridge tiles should be smooth to facilitate the installation of T-joints.

#### Anti-Slip Measures and Choice of Fasteners

During construction, it is forbidden to step directly on the tile ridges to prevent cracking of the skylight panels. Instead, place a thick, non-slip wooden board across the horizontal position of the skylight panels and step on it while pre-drilling and fixing screws. It is recommended to use specialized self-tapping screws with sealing pads under the screws and cover them with waterproof caps after tightening.

#### Professional Support

Installing resin tiles is not particularly difficult, but for larger or more complex projects, it is advisable to hire a professional installation team. Professional resin tile manufacturers typically offer comprehensive after-sales services, including installation videos or on-site guidance, ensuring a smooth installation process and optimal performance of the resin tiles.

By following these practical installation tips, you can ensure a secure installation of synthetic resin tiles, enhancing their lifespan and providing reliable stability and durability for the building structure.
